Tanzania books

Adventuring in East Africa by Allen Bechky is a Sierra Club Travel Guide to the Great Safaris of Kenya, Tanzania, Eastern Zaire, Rwanda, and Uganda. Excellent descriptions of the national parks and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Highly recommended for reading before you go.

Safari Companion by Richard Estes is well illustrated and essential for observing the behaviour of African mammals.

East Africa (Lonely Planet) provides excellent factual information on traveling to and around Tanzania. Their Safari Guide is helpful with photographs of the most popular animals. Highly recommended. If you can take only one book, this is the one.
