3-DAY SAFARIS INFORMATIONNgorongoro Crater / Lake Manyara National ParkTOURS OVERVIEWOur 3-day African safaris, tours, travel and trekking packages, which specifically include the Lake Manyara National Park, have been designed to offer you a short but intense Tanzanian Northern Circuit safari experience, for a shorter and time constrained period of 3 days / 2 nights. You will experience the excitement of game viewing in two of the most spectacular national game parks in Tanzania. This unforgettable African safari tour will take you to the Ngorongoro Crater, featuring one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa. Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife - inside a self-contained world teeming with animals. Your tour will also take you to the Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania's most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a shallow but huge soda lake, at the foot of the Great Rift Valley's western escarpment. The size of both the selected Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater national parks, make them a perfect choice for our shorter safaris, tours, travel and trekking packages, or even an African photographic safari. This is a suggested or sample Tanzanian safari itinerary - it can be adapted to suite your own personal needs and preferences, as well as to any seasonal changes or to migratory animal movements. DAY 1ARUSHA / NGORONGORO CRATER After breakfast you are met by our professional tour guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari info briefing, after which, we head for the Ngorongoro Crater, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After an early lunch we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for an afternoon game drive. The crater is one of the most densely crowded game areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhino. Dinner and overnight on the Crater Rim, as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested. DAY 2NGORONGORO CRATER / LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK After an early breakfast we once again descend into the crater to view wildlife for a full day's tour. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque park is it's dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will enjoy a picnic lunch at the hippo pool near the Mandusi Swamp, after which we will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other African water birds can usually been seen here. We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park after which we depart early afternoon for the Lake Manyara National Park area to overnight. Dinner and overnight in the Lake Manyara area, as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested. DAY 3LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK / ARUSHA After breakfast we head into the Lake Manyara National Park. This impressive park is one of Tanzania's most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley's western escarpment. The park's varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa's largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara's famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the Lake Manyara National Park and an exciting morning and afternoon game drive, in search of the tree-climbing lions.
